(iv)In Section B, Question numbers 6 to 8 are very short answer (VSA) type questions carrying 02 marks each.
(v)In Section C, Question numbers 9 to 11 are short answer (SA) type questions carrying 03 marks each.
(vi)Draw neat figures wherever required. Take π = 22/7 wherever required, if not stated.
(vii)Use of calculators is not allowed.
SECTION A
This section comprises 5 questions of 1 mark each.

Find the product of the zeroes of 2x² − 5x − 8.

Find the sum of the zeroes of 3x² − 12x + 7.

A quadratic polynomial's graph touches the x-axis at exactly one point. How many zeroes does the polynomial have?

Find the zero of the linear polynomial 5x − 9.

Write the degree of the polynomial 4x³ − 7x⁵ + x − 9.
SECTION B
This section comprises 3 very short answer (VSA) type questions of 2 marks each.

If 2 is a zero of the polynomial 3x² + kx − 10, find the value of k.

Find a quadratic polynomial with sum of zeroes √3 and product of zeroes 2/5.

Find the zeroes of x² − x − 12.
SECTION C
This section comprises 3 short answer (SA) type questions of 3 marks each.

If one zero of the polynomial x² − 8x + k is three times the other, find the zeroes and the value of k.
10.3
If α and β are the zeroes of x² − 8x + 12, find the value of α² + β² and of 1/α + 1/β.
11.3
Find the zeroes of 2x² − x − 6 and verify the relationship between the zeroes and the coefficients.
